Heroes & Hooves Veteran Program
A place of peace, connection, and grounding for those who have served.
At Hearts & Hooves Haven, we believe our nation's heroes deserve a space to rest, reconnect, and breathe. The Heroes & Hooves Program was created as a free community offering for veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, and their families who may benefit from time spent in nature with gentle, rescued farm animals.
Our sanctuary is quiet, calm, and healing — a place where you don't need to explain anything or meet any expectations. You are simply welcome.

Connect with the Animals
Spend time brushing, feeding, or simply sitting with animals who have overcome their own hardships. Many veterans find comfort and grounding through these quiet, non-judgmental connections.
Enjoy a Calm, Outdoor Setting
Surrounded by rolling hills, fresh air, and the sounds of nature, the sanctuary offers a break from stress, noise, and the demands of daily life.
Bring Your Support System
Our Heroes are welcome to bring loved ones to share the experience. Many veterans enjoy watching their children or grandchildren connect with the animals.
Zero Cost. No Pressure.
This program is 100% free. There is no schedule you must follow, no requirements, and no expectations — our programs are free and welcoming.
Why It Matters
Many of the animals at Hearts & Hooves Haven came from situations of uncertainty, stress, or neglect. Their resilience often mirrors the journeys of the people who spend time with them.
"Veterans finding calm while brushing a miniature horse"
"First responders releasing stress by sitting quietly with goats"
"Families reconnecting during simple, joyful experiences"
"Animals who once struggled to trust — learning to trust again"
The unspoken understanding between humans and animals can be deeply healing — and we witness that every day.
"Our goal is to give back to the people who have given so much. The Heroes & Hooves Program is our way of saying: Thank you. You are valued. You are welcome. Our hearts are open!"
